    Job Role & Responsibilities:

    Support the Head of Scheduling with the development and maintenance of Schedules for the Operational Readiness Program.

    Work with the Head of Scheduling on the overall development of a single, integrated Schedule for the Operational Readiness Program.

    Support the creation of the Architecture of schedules for predefined milestone levels for different level of audiences.

    In conjunction with the Functional and Project Managers Develop level 1, 2, 3 & 4 project schedules based on input of the team following rolling wave planning principle and work closely with vendors, internal PMS to develop integrated resource loaded project schedules.

    Work closely with vendors, internal PMS to develop an integrated resource loaded project schedules.

    Conduct Impact Assessments of Change Requests on the integrated schedule and its components to support decision making.

    Track Changes across the Integrated Schedule.

    Support the production of Monthly Progress Reports and support population and maintenance of Risk and Issues Logs with the Functional / Project managers and Risk Team as required.

    Proactively seek feedback with other members of the Operational Readiness Team to ensure full integration and logic linking of plans and reports.

    Contribute to the development of any procedures or guidance as required to support the effective scheduling of project deliverables as required.

    Comply will all procedures and assist PMS and SMEs in their understanding and compliance with all procedures relating to scheduling for project delivery.

     ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: 

    • Support as required by the System level EMC and Earthing & Bonding Management concerning the clarification of EMC and E&B related issues at interfaces to third parties  
    • Support as required by the System level EMC and Earthing & Bonding Management concerning the clarification of EMC and E&B related issues at interfaces between the Subsystems 
    • Support to the integration of the Subsystem E&B and EMC activities
    • Give E&B and EMC related advice to Subsystem designers and site checkers / site supervisors / site quality control (QC) 
    • Perform or participate in design reviews of E&B designs which are fundamental to the integration of the Subsystem specific E&B and EMC measures
    • Perform and coordinate spot checks on the QC documentation / Quality Surveillance reports relating to E&B and EMC measures implemented during the construction and installation phase of the project 
    • Perform or coordinate spot checks of installed E&B and EMC measures

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Degree in engineering, preferably in electrical engineering or electrical power engineering 
    • Extensive professional experience in rail transport systems, ideally in the systems business, with the focus on electrical networks or electrical systems
    • Specialist knowledge in the areas of grounding, lightning protection, stray-current corrosion, fault analysis, electrical safety and measurements in electrical systems
    • Independent and structured approach to work
      High level of customer and quality orientation together with strong abilities in consulting and implementation

Core competency & domain knowledge of the mechanical engineer should be: car body interior design, material selection and developing structural interfaces. The engineer shall have firsthand experience in car body interior designs, their installation & commissioning and should have executed multiple projects successfully.

     

    Having experience of car body integration with bogie, understanding of car body structure, managing weight & wheel load distribution and calibration, car body setting for final assembly as complete vehicle, safety considerations in the car body-bogie interface, car body structure and compatibility with equipment loads etc. will be an added advantage.

    • Undertake the development of car body 3D model of existing metro cars with structural details and interfaces as required for new interiors as replacement of older ones. Since the client is undertaking refurbishment works, re-engineering on the structures, models & interfaces would be an important responsibility

    About the Position

    This position is part of the engineering design team. The Mechanical Engineer would be assessing  the structure carbody concerns due to  integration of the new equipment in the context of the refurbishment, develop interfaces of interiors with the carbody, design the brackets, carbody interior design, material selection and  developing structural interfaces. The Mechanical Integration Engineer needs also to interface with the Independent Safety Assessor (ISA) for carbody and bogie structure aspects.

     

    Job Responsibilities

    • Support the mechanical design team in order to ensure that the main constrains in terms of carbody structure are respected.
    • Assess the correct application of EN 12663, UIC 566, UIC 615 and UIC 515 in the context of the carbody and bogie structure assessment.
    • Assess the structure design in term of Fire Barrier protection.
    • Review and approve the Mechanical Integration documentation which determine the design of the mechanical interface/fixing of the equipment with the carbody structure.
    • Produce relevant mechanical integration documentation (calculation notes, drawings…) required by the project.
    • Assess the 3D models and FEM analyses conducted for mechanical integration matters.
    • Undertake the development of carbody 3D model of existing metro cars with structural details and interfaces. Being  refurbishment works, re-engineering on the structures, models & interfaces would be an important responsibility   
    • Good knowledge of composites , panels, relevant standards
    • Develop  concept designs of  the interiors including seats, flooring, ceilings, ducts , lighting  systems , air conditioning system,  draught screens etc.
    • Develop industrial designs for presentation to customer
    • Select suitable material by having wide range of knowledge on the cost effective solution using the materials approved for being used in metro car
    • Review and approve the Mechanical Integration documentation to determine the design of the mechanical interface/fixing of the equipment with the carbody structure.

    • Prepares special programs for using new equipment and tools for the first time on trial basis. Follows up and studies encountered problems of specific wells and new equipment, tools, methods and evaluates performance for necessary adjustment.
    • Evaluates performance of the existing drilling technology/equipment/ tools and makes necessary recommendations to enhance/improve drilling operations achievements.            And Works closely with Service Companies and Commercial Division to ensure that equipment meets the Company standards and expectations.
    • Maintains close and continuous contacts with Service Companies engineers and sales representatives to keep abreast with recent development of new technology/equipment/ tools/methods and procedures, studies adaptability to the Company operations and recommends appropriate actions.
    • Follows up the equipment installation with operation groups on daily basis to ensure high level performance.
    • Works closely with drilling operations group to maintain continuous review and update of procedures outlined in the DORM and with Drilling Division's Performance Track Engineer to ensure updating the computer data base on time.
    •  Follows up and evaluates the daily drilling operations performance and ensures abidance to the Company's Safety Policy, procedures and standards and follows up specific contracts.

    • Works in line with HSE policy, and ensure awareness and compliance of HSE rules and regulations by subordinates.

    Communication & Organizational Relationships:

    • Daily contacts with personnel within the Division up to Section Leader’s level for exchanging information/expertise and consultation.
    • Frequent contacts with Service Companies up to Senior Engineer/Representatives' level for evaluating new products available in the market.
    • Works according to Company’s established policies and professional/engineering standards.  Takes initiative when studying and providing appropriate recommendations.
    • Contacts Engineers in Petroleum Engineering, to consult and co-ordinate drilling engineering activities.

            Lead/ Manage the bid preparation process ensuring that Company procedures are followed.

            Implementation of the directions and strategy of the Management to the bid preparation process.

            Fully up to date on every aspect of Proposal preparation/status.                              

    Tasks and Responsibilities - Specific responsibilities of the Proposals Coordinator include but are not limited to the following:

            Review Tender Documents including the Instructions to Tenderers, Scope of Work, Key Contract Dates, Commercial price forms and terms of payment as a minimum.

            Initiate all required documents and pro-formats as detailed in the Level 2 Procedures.

            Co-ordinate the distribution of Documents via a document distribution matrix, utilizing both hard copy and electronic media.

            Co-ordinate Bid Kick off meetings in conjunction with the Estimators, Bid Project Manager and schedule progress meeting as required.

            Ensure that the Bid development and bid inputs remain in accordance with the Capture Plan strategies developed in advance (or as subsequently revised).

            Monitor Engineering or Subcontract or Priced Services for Bid Support Budgets and advise Proposal Manager of any potential overruns.

            Establish the Bidding Schedule and communicate requirements to all inputting departments.

            Update schedule as required in the event of extensions being granted.

            Monitor progress of the Bidding activity and highlight concerns to the Proposal Manager.

            Set up, maintain a Bid Clarification register to log and monitor pre-bid correspondence for the Proposal.

            Review and identify any inconsistencies in the Invitation to Tender Documents.

            Coordinate receipt of, and issue, requests for Clarification. Distribute clarification responses and Bid Addenda as received from Customer.

            Direct and provide guidance to the Assembly coordinators for the compilation of the Proposal Document intended for submission to the Customer. Establish in advance requirements for Binders, inserts, Cover pages, labels, envelopes and storage cases for final delivery.

            Review commercial inputs and check that there are no significant errors, inconsistencies, oversight, and that the execution plan inputs are in accordance with the Capture Plan strategies. Highlight any concerns to the relevant inputting contact.

            Ensure that technical and internal bid review inputs are received in the requested format.

            Expedite inputs to ensure that the bidding schedule is not jeopardized.

            Prepare Technical/Commercial qualifications listing for review.

            Ensure reports as defined in the procedure document to satisfy Management bid review requirements.

            Provide input to various reports associated with the Business Development Group.

            Review regularly the Proposal Document, to ensure that the requirements of the Customer are fully satisfied in terms of format, content and consistency.

            Ensure the correct delivery arrangements have been made and confirmed in advance as required.

            Coordinate Prequalification inputs/ submissions as per Level 2 procedure.

            Any other task that Proposals Manager assigns.

            The Proposals Manager may assign other responsibilities as necessary.
