Background
Launched in April 2014, Kaombo is the first project on the ultra-deepwater offshore Block 32, located off the Angolan coast. Total, in partnership with Sonangol P&P, Sonangol Sinopec International, Esso and Galp, is working on this US$16 billion project, which is expected to first produce oil in 2017 estimated at 230,000 barrels per day. The multi-phase and multi-national project has many onshore operations around the world, including the UAE, Singapore and Indonesia.
Challenge
MPH firstly combatted stiff competition to win this business and the other challenge was multi-location deployment and requirement of onshore personnel in UAE, Angola, Singapore, France and Indonesia.
Approach
Multi-location MPH teams were used to ensure the delivery of the project to the utmost satisfaction of Total. Both the Singapore and Abu Dhabi offices worked closely with the MPH global operations team, producing measureable results within the first weeks of signing the contract. MPH’s commitment to quality and experience helped in placing consultants immediately. Furthermore, with the end-to-end package of recruitment, employee immigration services, payroll and taxation, HSE compliance and training and, finally, mobilization of the teams, it was imperative that MPH account managers worked closely with each location’s fabrication yard teams. MPH’s flexibility allowed them to work closely with the Total on-ground teams with site visits during the entire process of deploying the consultants.
Result
This project is ongoing and until now many consultants in piping, HSE, planning and cost controlling have been mobilized in all the four destinations. Total has entrusted us to deliver quality end-to-end solution for the personnel requirement.
